My photographs are inspired by folklore and history, the wild beauty of my external surroundings here in Wales, and how they reflect my internal dreamscape. This desaturated wonderland, an otherworldly, limbo-like and lonely place is explored in my, mostly self-portrait, work which often has a poetic narrative. The photographs, with a diaphanous softness reminiscent of the faerie-like works of the pre-raphaelites, are intimate glimpses into the glass house of a shy spectral apparition. She is the gothic heroine fuelled by despair but in pursuit of solace. She is a light in the darkness.
